Paul, of rather odd views for a Republican, won due to the organization skills of his supporters at CPAC. |

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 02:34 PM PST ContributorNetwork - COMMENTARY | Back in December, after Republicans had pulled off a number of victories to ensure a large majority in the House of Representatives and just before the lame duck surge of the 111th Congress, GOP House members issued a "Pledge To America." In it, they pledged, among other things, to repeal and replace health care, limit federal spending, provide tax breaks for small businesses and honor traditional marriage. Tired of what they called Democratic "back-room deals," they also pledged to "make government more transparent in its actions, careful in its stewardship, and honest in its dealings." In giving the benefit of the doubt, they may have been careful and honest in the few short weeks they've been in control of the House, but Republicans have been anything but transparent in their actions. |
