US, other wealthy nations vow global warming cuts (AP) Posted: 08 Jul 2009 03:09 PM PDT AP - Targeting global warming, President Barack Obama and other leaders of the world's richest industrial countries pledged Wednesday to seek dramatic cuts in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 to slow dangerous climate change. Setting a marker for success, they agreed for the first time that worldwide temperatures must not rise more than a few degrees. |

It's a promise he's already broken and will likely have to break again. Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress have already increased tobacco taxes which disproportionately hit the poor to pay for extending health coverage to 4 million children in working low-income families. |
